Indications/Contraindications
Rule out septic hip or periprosthetic infection.
Workup as standard: Infectious source, XR to rule out fracture or dislocation or evaluate for foreign body, WBC, ESR/CRP

Pearls & Pitfalls
If any question of needing hip aspiration, hold any home anticoagulation and make NPO.
Call as early (or ask primary service to call) as possible to avoid delays.
